Halloween Night

Handsome Devil

Crazy Cats

Aunt Mere and the Rooster

Zebra? Horse?

I wanna go home.

We have spent the last 4 Halloweens with some girls from Liberia. They are crazy, candy-hungry and totally cute. Ilon loves them! She was a rooster again by request this year, she actually asks to wear the costume a couple times a week. Meredith and Clint braved the carnival with us and I think we all need a nap. Happy Halloween everyone.

Pizza and Pumpkins

We were buying pants for Aaron the other day and the salesperson was trying to get him into something "club worthy", he said we had to get a babysitter sometime, right?? For the times when we can't make it to the clubs, this is a little bit of the fun we have...

Ilon has named the baby-to-be "Roger". So our pumpkin this year is in honor of our newest addition to be. You can't really see in the pictures but Aaron spelled it Rodger. Does anyone spell it that way? Anyway, nice work with the stork and baby, honey:)

We made a big mess,

and ate a lot of food..

If anyone wants to babysit, we got the pants..

Candy Corn!

So I love having traditions, things you do every year for a holiday or something. Halloween we already have several established but I tried to add one more this year. Make our own candy corn! It was fun to do, but it was probably the worst tasting thing that has come out of our kitchen (although there are some close seconds). Definitely worth the try, food coloring and marshmallows always make for a fun evening:)

Gearing up for numero dos

We have begun to get ready for the arrival of our second child. Ilon has just graduated to a toddler bed. We are trying to help her understand that soon she will be sharing her room, among many other things with her new brother or sister.

the big 28

I really like 28. Good solid number, on the way to wisdom:) We had a party with our home church and Yagba (in the pic with Ilon) brought a cake the size of Ilon (probably weighed about the same). It was made by a friend from Liberia and gorgeous, we wanted to preserve it in wax! I've had this HUGE craving for cinnamon rolls, I blame it on pregnancy, so we had that, eggrolls (from Hayley in the pink hat), brownies, cookies, hummus, spinach dip, pita chips, and the cake to feed 5000. Needless to say you had to roll me to bed (and that had NOTHING to do with being pregnant).

My wonderful family made me spinach enchiladas for dinner and got me tons of cute preggo clothes. For those of you who haven't carried the basketball-size tumor around on your stomach, it is amazing what a new shirt can do for your state of mind:) So go ahead, treat your favorite currently pregnant friend to a little boost of self-esteem! I'm pretty sure it helps out the baby too. Update on the little "it", moving around like crazy and semi-permanently camped out in the bladder area. Makes for a long night of trips to the bathroom! Otherwise doing fine, 2 1/2 months to go!

The fort

Aaron built Ilon her first fort today, she calls it her tent, and she spent most of the day trying to convince someone, ANYONE, to play in it with her. It's fun to watch her turn into an independent little kid instead of a baby, but also nice that I'm still invited to play:) We turned her crib into a toddler bed last night, trying to avoid broken limbs and bloody noses from trying to climb out! She fell out of it (about a foot off the ground) 2x during the night and it was hilarious! Not to be mean, but she was so surprised to wake up on the ground still clutching her blanket and "friends" (bear, lion, frog, zebra, to name a few). We'll see if she gets the hang of it tonight!

we love fall

When else can you see floating pumpkins? I have been putting pumpkin in everything I eat, I think my hands are
looking a bit orange...
Dallas is beautiful this time of year; it's still green with flowers everywhere and cool enough to sleep with the windows open.

Ilon's new friend

We have been having home church at our house for the last few months. Ilon seems to like the company but is some what distraught we she realizes that she is not the center of attention. Well, we have a new family that is now part of our home church and they have a daughter named Stella that is about Ilon's age. It's funny but sometimes two are easier than one.

Olympic hopefuls

Among the many watching the olympic swimming competitions, some were inspired more than others. Maybe we'll see them in London next go around. Good luck fellas!
