Homemade bread and Minestrone

Sundays at Six are back! We love these summer concerts in the park. The whole town comes out, the mosquitoes keep their distance, and the music is always a treat.

Aaron and I went white water rafting on Monday with a group from his work. One of his c0-workers, who also happens to rent us our house, happens to be the mother of the couple that owns the rafting company. So we got the special treatment and some great river guides. One of the boats lost a rafter on some big water and Aaron pulled him out. Unfortunately we were too busy enjoying the water to remember to take any pictures! Thanks Kim and Dave for keeping all the grandkiddos at one time so we could go!

Ilon and Gabriel informed me there were dragons to be fought in our house this morning.

Unfortunately Denver the friendly dinosaur got caught in the cross-fire and had to be fixed up.

Blooming flowers!

The Rock Garden.
A gorgeous day to go rock climbing; blue skies, cows mooing, flies buzzing, and the whole place to ourselves!

Tucker Ponds

We went camping! 2 nights and days of dirt, spiders, pine needles, pine trees, camp fires, stars, marshmallows, fishing, friends, and beautiful scenery. Be prepared, there are LOTS of pictures.

The last few days...

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

We had a great weekend! Friday night I was on call so that afternoon we swam at Splashland which just re-opened. A great outdoor pool was much needed in Alamosa! Then we had a BBQ in the backyard and Aaron and Ilon slept in the tent. Gabriel likes the idea of camping and the feel of his nice comfy bed. We're hoping to turn the little guy around!

Saturday morning we had french toast on the patio and did some more sidewalk art. Flowers have finally came out around town as the winds have slowed down. Ilon helped me plant while Aaron played his 300th hole of golf. I don't think I'm exaggerating either...

Ilon went to a birthday party at the park where all the little girls and boys oooo'd and aaaah'd over Tangled dolls and played water balloons.

Saturday night we went to Andrew and Michelle's and had great homemade pizza and beer on the patio and went to see Kung Fu Panda II at the drive-in. The Kung Fu panda is a long time family favorite, as much for the parents as the kids. All the kids did great for staying up way past their bedtime.

We had another day of gymnastics with Ilon doing great and Gabriel enjoying the first half and throwing fits for the second. His attention span seems do dwindle after 2 activities. He LOVES the big balance beam and the bars. He runs across and does jumps on the beam and flips on the bar.

Monday we stole Addie and went for an adventure on the river. The kids went exploring and hunted flowers and rocks. They all found hiking sticks and we took them home to decorate! They got painted and modge-podged and ribboned. The kiddos are ready for a hike!
