We took a road trip to Texas to see family and celebrate an awesome wedding! It was fun and went by far too fast.

The Airshow

Have I said how much I love weekends with the family lately? I am not looking forward to working weekends again! So we are enjoying the ones we have. Friday night we went swimming at Splashland, Gabriel went down the slide 25 times and Ilon showed off her new skills. Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market and to the Air show! We watched little planes diving and twirling, Gabriel was enthralled. We got a special treat of going up in an Eagle Air Med plane, their nurses and pilots transport patients from our ICU often. We flew over our house and I got to fly for a hot 2 minutes:) It was fun!

This has been a busy week. VBS, swimming lessons, work, meetings, check-ups. I think I did more this week than I have all summer! Ilon did a great job learning to swim, she conquered the slide, the float, head bobs, and front stroke and passed to the next level. It's fun seeing our little fish in the water!

Willow Lake

Aaron and I went backpacking to Willow Lake. Let's just say it was a lot easier in our 20's, we feel creaky and blistered. The hike starts in Crestone and goes up to about 11,000 feet. There is a lake, probably one of many, nestled at the base of huge peaks. We both climbed here in college but had forgotten how amazing it is!

There is a canoe stashed at the lake, I can only imagine how it got there. We took it for an early morning ride and got a close up of the waterfall. Pretty serene to be out in the middle of a lake on top of a mountain. We spent the morning fishing, reading, relaxing, and got an early start out. Thankfully the hike down is a lot quicker and we stopped for cold soda's at a Tea shop in Crestone.
