July

July has been a blast. It's hot during the day but cools down at night, great for swimming and evenings outside! The kids have become GREAT friends, riding bikes, playing superheroes. It's really fun to watch! We had a great night out, found a darling little mexican restaurant that looks like a garden, huckleberry ice cream across the street and finished with an outdoor showing of the Lion King on campus. Love summer!

Coeur d'Alene

Sunday we spent the day with Jim and Sue exploring the lake and parks, hiking, and driving through Coeur d'Alene. Gorgeous. What a fun place to live! We are excited to go back!

A weekend in Washington

We went to Spokane, WA and stayed with Woody and Madonna, Aaron's dads cousins, who live outside of town. We had an amazing time! They live on acres of forest and hills with dogs, horses, tons of flowers and a huge garden. It's beautiful! We had dinner with more cousins and family that I'm still not sure how we are related but I'm glad that we are! We swam and went for walks, saw a darling little fawn Ilon is sure is Bambi, and picked berries. Ilon is a berry maniac. She picked and ate and picked and ate... I remember this from the blueberry bushes in East TX with Jeremy and Rhonda!
There was a huge rainstorm we watched over omelets and coffee, that let up just long enough to pick strawberries. Perfect weekend in Washington. We crossed back over the border to spend the rest of Sunday in Coeur d'Alene.

Our tiny little porch has been the spot for many crafty projects, the kids are so creative! We are attempting to grow strawberries, pumpkins, basil and sunflowers. The grizzlies are still a favorite spot to stop, slightly terrifying through 2 layers of fencing. One of Ilon's favorite things to do is wake up early and make breakfast for everyone. Her specialty is toast and jelly! We are enjoying the freedom before school starts!
We had a great visit from lovely friends, chased butterflies on the beach, and are regulars at the Saturday Farmers Market in Downtown. I could wander through the booths of homemade goodies and fresh fruits for hours... Fresh cinnamon coffees, sticky buns, flowers...

Summer!

Fourth of July, exploring State parks and beaches, swimming, swimming, swimming...
